Wireless Networking

The ability to connect anywhere and anytime has led to the increasing use of wireless communication in homes, in offices, on the roads, and almost everywhere. Data intensive applications such as streaming media and two-way video-chat have further fueled the need for higher data-rates. Several faculty in our group have multiple projects related to wireless networking. Our focus is to design reliable, robust, higher data-rate, spectrally efficient, and secure network services and architectures for tomorrow. Some of the key research topics studied are as follows: full-duplex wireless communication, resource allocation, mobility, medium access control, vehicular networks, wireless local-area networks, cognitive radios, cellular networks, sensor and actuator networks, cross-layer design, scaling laws, and wireless security.
