Part of my frustration with the man page is that it lists a number of options for keyboard-layout -rules,-model,-variant that don't really have any explanation of what they do or how to use them....

If the recommended way to do this is with an external program, could the man page be updated to say that? I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to do this with the keyboard-layout...
