Donc wine est un logiciel libre, au sens de la FSF, car il répond aux quatres critères.
Le problème qui se pose avec wine, c'est que sa license est trop permissive, et les sociétés qui font des améliorations à wine ont peur de se faire piller leurs améliorations par une entreprise qui fait du propriétaire. Elles souhaiteraient une license qui oblige à redistribuer le logiciel sous la même license que la license originale, comme par exemple la GPL ou la LGPL.
