I love "design by contract" programming (introduced in the Eiffel language) to detect bugs. Other lnguages like C now also offer good support for different types of assertions ( http://www.gnu.org/software/nana/nana.html(...) ).
What amount of work should go into programming assertions, and what amount can be left to automatic debuggers like askIgor ?
