This summer, I'm working on Kopete to add support for Jingle audio and video
as a Google Summer of Code.
As you know (or don't know), Kopete uses Iris as its XMPP/Jabber protocol
implementation. That's why I'd like to work with you guys and add Jingle
support in Iris (without libjingle, wasn't it what you wanted previously ?
You're own implementation of Jinge ?) so it is usable by Psi and Kopete (and
certainly other jabber clients I don't know).
Another thing is about the copy of Iris in Kopete : currently, we sync the
last version of Iris once every 5 months or so to our kde repository and we
cannot then benefit of the last updates and bug correction from Iris.
A solution would be to use svn:externals so we always have the latest revesion
in our repository.
But then, another problem occurs as we are using CMake and Iris is using qmake
which the configure file has to be run in the psi directory. Some changes
would have to be made there if we want this to work.
That's just an idea for now, sleep on it at least once before telling me it's
not possible :-)
