For one year, the new Linux hype has been called "Ubuntu". Did you try this version of Linux and what do you think about it?
But both as an end-user or as a corporate user I don't see the real benefit to use Debian. Now Ubuntu is perhaps more complicated because it's somehow Debian, but somehow not. It takes people from the Debian project creating another non quite compatible derivative. Also, as a user I wouldn't feel confident with Ubuntu, because it's not clear if they just want to "ruin" Mark Shuttleworth or make money once they get a good installed base. Personally, I've learnt to be cautious with people throwing piles of money with no apparent goals.
