Moi j'ai xine avec la xine-lib 1_rc5-r3 et libtheora 1.0_alpha3 et ça marche nickel (juste une petit problème avec les premiers frames) mais xine me previens de problèmes potentiels :

development. If the stream could not be played back go to http://xine.sourceforge.net(...) and get the latest release of xine.
This release will play back streams which have been encoded with
libtheora-cvs.
Donc je pense que le mieux est d'utiliser une version très récente de xine ET libtheora
