"Move fast and break things" became a pervasive mantra of the Internet, and not only did Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg adopt this as the operating principle for Facebook's internal engineering effort, but he went further to observe that "Unless you are breaking stuff, you are not moving fast enough." Perhaps we should simply be grateful that Facebook does not build aeroplanes, nuclear power plants or automobiles.
