anyway people can still compile the program for their own personal purposes. The only restriction is that redistribution is not allowed. In my experience, the GPL license wasn't beneficial for us. Mainly because Linux distribution don't make it clear that they aren't associated in any form with the original developer of each application (and other issues). I'll write more about this in these days.
