    That said, they clearly don’t plan on supporting VMS, Windows, OS 9, etc. All of that compatibility adds tons of complexity. Traditionally portable OpenBSD projects, like OpenSSH, OpenNTPD, OpenBGPD, OpenSMTPD are implemented exclusively for OpenBSD first, and then ported.

    If this gets ported, there will probably be a compatibility layer written in that provides missing functions (strlcat(3) and strlcpy(3) on Linux) that gets linked in.
