Note-Taking / PDF Annotation Tool `Xournal` 0.4.8 Released With New Export To PDF Code, Other Changes

Xournal was updated to version 0.4.8 today, bringing new Export to PDF code, a horizontal view mode along with other changes.


For those not familiar with Xournal, this is a GTK+ application for note-taking, sketching, keeping a journal using a stylus on Tablet PCs and other platforms.

Firefox 15, which has been released a few days ago, comes with some cool features disabled by default: native PDF viewer, preferences in tab and click-to-play plugins.

These features have been in testing for quite a while, but they are not 100% ready so they aren't enabled by default and there are no options in the Firefox preferences to enable them. But, if you don't mind an occasional glitch, you can enable them  using the about:config tool.

Add PDF, Audio And EXIF Metadata To Nautilus (3.4 To 3.10) List View [Nautilus Columns]

Nautilus Columns is a Nautilus extension that displays PDF and audio (mp3, WAV and FLAC) tags as well as EXIF metadata to the Nautilus List View. The extension has been updated recently by WebUpd8 reader Arun to work with Nautilus 3.4 so you can use it in the latest Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Update: it also works with Nautilus 3.10 / Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10.
