I’m a Research Scientist for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and my main role is working for the strawberry breeding program where we do virus indexing, PCRs and extracting DNA, and then seeing what’s present. Our main aim is to keep viruses out of our breeding populations to develop new strawberry varieties that are disease and pest-free.
