Economic sentiment slightly down
At the monthly level, the sentiment indicator deteriorated slightly, while year-on-year it improved.

Down at the monthly level ...
The sentiment indicator was at −0.8 percentage points (p.p.), and thus 0.7 p.p. lower than in the previous month (−0.1 p.p.).
A negative influence was recorded for the confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 0.8 p.p.) and among consumers (by 0.6 p.p.), while services and retail trade confidence indicators had a positive impact (by 0.6 and 0.1 p.p., respectively). The construction confidence indicator had no impact.
... but up at the annual level
Compared to August last year, the sentiment indicator was higher by 1.7 p.p.
Three out of five confidence indicators contributed to the growth: in retail trade (by 1.1 p.p.), among consumers (by 0.8 p.p.) and in manufacturing (by 0.6 p.p.). On the other hand, the impact in services and in construction was negative (by 0.8 p.p. and 0.1 p.p., respectively).
