You'll need to re-enrol each academic year or session to confirm you want to continue your studies at SOAS.
It's best to re-enrol as soon as you can, to ensure that your student loans or grants are processed in good time.
| Activity | Opening date (2025) | Closing date (2025) |
|---|---|---|
Enrolment for continuing students who have progressed UG/PG/PGR | Monday 4 August | Friday 3 October |
| Late summer resit students | Monday 22 September | Friday 3 October |
| BLE/Moodle Guest access | - | Friday 3 October |
You will receive an 'invitation to re-enrol' email.
Complete online enrolment:
The Teams will check your enrolment, i.e. personal details, submitted documents, fees payment. This may take 3 to 4 days. Should anything be unclear or missing you will be contacted by email.
Once your enrolment has been finalised, you will receive an enrolment confirmation to your SOAS email account. If your SOAS ID Card has expired, once your enrolment has been confirmed, please contact the Campus Security Office, located in the Main Building on the lower ground floor.
During your study at SOAS, you may need a letter to prove your student status - whether it's for council tax exemption, opening a bank account, applying for a Schengen Visa, or many other reasons. You can request a letter from the Student Hub, via the Student Information Desk (SID).
Please select Request a Service from the main screen. You will then see the option to browse categories. Select "General Student Support" and then "Student Letter". You can stop by Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm
If you have any queries, please contact us through the Student Information Desk to speak with the relevant enrolment team.
Please complete the online re-enrolment task. However, if you did not previously provide us with your passport/ID document or you have a new passport/ID document please upload it via the Online student portal.
If the immigration document you previously provided to us has expired or you are returning from interruption or a period of non-attendance or you are an EU national/eligible family member who previously did not provide us with evidence of status under the EUSS/ Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man’s settlement schemes status you must upload the following documents:
If you obtained a new Student visa or switched to a new UK immigration category, please provide us with a ‘share code’ beginning with ‘S’ so that we can view your e-visa and confirm your full immigration status by logging on to Online Student Services and selecting the Upload My documents box. Please note that the uploads need to be in a JPEG or PDF format and no bigger than 2 MB.
If you have not done so already, you can obtain the ‘share code’ via the UKVI's View and Prove your immigration status service. Please make sure you are generating a share code for 'any other reason' (not right to work or right to rent).
Student route visa holders re-enrolling at SOAS are expected to adhere to the responsibilities and conditions attached to their Student visa.
If you have been issued a BRP that expired on 31 December 2024, but your visa decision letter or email confirms that your immigration permission extends beyond this date and you have not yet created a UKVI account, please see the gov.uk webpages regarding creating your UKVI account and generating a share code.
Please contact us through the Student Information Desk (SID) to speak with a member of the Enrolment team.
