Teaching + learning

Helping students approach research with confidence, creativity, and critical insight

How we can help

We offer a variety of teaching and learning opportunities that complement the traditional course curriculum and support students as they learn to conduct scholarly research.

Teaching resources for instructors

Reading and Composition courses

Our Research 101 Guide provides an overview of options that instructors can use to meet the research needs of their students.

Non-Reading and Composition courses

For non-R&C courses, instructors can collaborate with a librarian to create a workshop tailored to their students’ unique research needs. Complete the workshop request form to get started. (CalNet authentication is required to access the form. If you are unable to submit the form for any reason, email isd@berkeley.edu.)

Please note that three weeks advance notice is required for all workshop requests.

Contact your subject librarian directly for a workshop

You are always welcome to reach out to your subject librarian to arrange for customized library instruction.
