KYOKUYO BLUE STARS Row into the 11th Shimonoseki Cutter Race

The Shimonoseki Cutter Race, traditionally held in the sweltering heat of July, was moved to October this year − likely in response to growing awareness and regulation around heatstroke prevention in the workplace. With milder weather and clearer skies, the 11th edition of the event offered great racing conditions for all participating teams.

This year, the event returned to its original form and welcomed many teams from all over the country, including teams from Shimonoseki and beyond!

NEWS 322 : SEVEN SAMURAI RETURNED

From Vocational Training at Oita

On June 28, we celebrated the graduation ceremony of the annual training program for new recruits at the Oita Regional Shipbuilding Craftsmanship Center (ORSC) in Saiki City, Oita Prefecture. Seven of our new recruits returned safely with a slightly more mature look (one with blond hair) after completing the three-month training program that began on April 4. Reflecting their efforts and struggles, their work uniforms seem to be dirty again this year.
