JICA President Tanaka Met with IMF Managing Director Georgieva

On June 23, JICA President Tanaka Akihiko met with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Tokyo.

President Tanaka and Managing Director Georgieva welcomed the collaboration aimed at facilitating dialogues on fiscal and economic policies among Asian countries and strengthening debt management capabilities in African countries. They also exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation and debt sustainability of developing countries, with a focus on the African region.

Both parties acknowledged that emerging and developing countries are facing additional risks amid increasing uncertainties and compound crises. They reaffirmed their commitment to promoting international cooperation to underpin economic stability and growth in those countries.
