Strategic Report Outlining the Path to Digital Transformation in the Water Supply Sector Released

2025年06月19日

The JICA DX Lab has released a strategic report titled "Digital Transformation for Growing Water Utilities ", aimed at enhancing the sustainability and operational efficiency of water supply utilities.

The report draws on JICA’s extensive experience in Official Development Assistance (ODA) and proposes Enterprise DX as a key enabler for addressing the pressing challenges faced by water utilities.

The report introduces ways to address pressing issues such as reducing Non-Revenue Water [1] (NRW), managing aging infrastructure, and improving financial health. It showcases how advanced technologies—including AI, IoT, and smart meters—can enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and efficient resource allocation.
