Wetland inventories have remained a priority area of focus for Contracting Parties of the Convention on Wetlands. However, countries in all regions face various challenges to the implementation of scientifically robust national wetland inventory processes.
As part of the National Wetland Inventory (NWI) support mechanism being implemented by the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands, this course aims to support Contracting Parties in elaborating a robust NWI development process, including collection and management of data, and an action-oriented data-flow approach with appropriate policy linkages, including with other MEAs’ global goals.
This is the first course of a three-part series, which will be developed over the coming years.
