Criminal Justice Reform in Thailand

Outline

There is a growing concern about the role of the judiciary in politics and policy making process in Thailand, especially during the political confrontations after the September 2006 Coup. To understand the changing role of the judiciary, this study will focus the criminal justice reform since 1990s, which reshaped the judicial system. This study will analyze the background, aims and achievements of the judicial reform since 1990s, as well as the features and challenges of the current criminal justice.
