Criminal Justice in Thailand(2022_1_40_009)

Outline

This research project will conduct a preliminary survey on criminal justice reform in Thailand since the 1990s. Although reform has enhanced the protection of human rights protection, including those of women and children, the Thai criminal justice system has faced various challenges in recent years. There is a growing concern about the political use of Lese-majeste rules and other crimes to suppress the anti-government movement since 2006. This survey aims to identify the major legal reforms targeting criminal justice and related organizations in Thailand.
