Populism in India: 'The World's Largest Democracy' under the Modi Government(2020_2_40_004)

Outline

While India has long been called the "world's largest democracy," its democracy has been rapidly eroded since the Narendra Modi-led BJP government came to power in May 2014. This research project aims to empirically show that the political discourse of the Modi government is purely populistic and that there is a wide gap between its political rhetoric and policy outcomes.
