This project conducts research into and analyzes the business history of "Sze Hai Tong Banking and Insurance Company Limited" in Singapore, established by the local Teochew community in 1907. The project elucidates not only the detailed history of Sze Hai Tong Bank but also discovers its socio-economical role in the first half ?of the 20th century.
