The Predominant Party System in Turkey (2020_2_40_008)

Outline

Why does the same political party win the majority of the national legislature for three consecutive elections that are generally free and fair? The fact that half of the consolidated democracies have experienced a PPS suggests that the presence of this is not accidental but requires logical explanation. This research project examines the factors that affect emergence, consolidation, and decline using Turkey as a case study where the PPS has lasted for the past 17 years.
