Local courts

Local courts are the lowest-instance courts adjudicating on cases involving criminal offences punishable by minor penalties, property-related matters of small value and certain civil matters regardless of their value (property-related disputes, disputes over easements). In addition, local courts adjudicate in disputes over statutory maintenance, inheritance cases and non-contentious cases, manage the land register and decide on enforcement cases.
In local courts, proceedings are conducted and decisions are adopted by a single judge.

There are 44 local courts in Slovenia.
