What is security export control?

Security export control is an export regulation implemented to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the excess stockpiling of conventional weapons. This measure is for the purpose of maintaining international peace and security.

The first stage in this procedure, is to judge whether permission is required from the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry. If permission is required, we then control the export or provide information. This procedure applies specifically:

• In the case of exporting specific cargoes (material goods) specified by the law
• In the case of providing a specific technology related to the design, manufacture and use of regulated cargo to overseas or nonresidents

Related types of regulations and systems

We have built a system for security export control and established a procedure with the Security Export Control Regulation.

In order to carry out appropriate management, we are building a support system and conducting training.
