Two Businesses Newly Received Highest Grade "Murasaki" of Omotenashi Standard Certification

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces that the Service Design Engineering Council granted Murasaki Certification, the highest grade of certification under the Omotenashi Standard Certification System, to Super Hotel Lohas JR Nara Eki and Mishima Skywalk. They were recognized as a "provider of Omotenashi services beyond customers' expectations."
1. Outline of the Omotenashi Standard Certification System
This system, operated by the Service Design Engineering Council, aims to provide a framework of standards that all businesses providing services are recommended to meet to provide, maintain and improve quality services and thereby to achieve higher productivity. Under this system, businesses are ranked in three color-based grades of the certification: Kin (gold), Kon (navy) and Murasaki (purple).
2. Murasaki Certification
A candidate for Murasaki Certification, having received a Kon Certification, is required to be recommended by a certification body and to be certified that it satisfies at least 24 criteria for efforts that it has already implemented among 30 stipulated in the certification system. The candidate is then eligible for receiving a Murasaki Certification, the highest grade. The degree of maturity of the efforts is also examined by the certification body.
Businesses that have received Murasaki Certification are recognized for their superiority over other businesses regarding the following points.
- They have established a mechanism of facilities and manuals necessary for providing appropriate services for customers.
- They are implementing unique efforts for improving customer satisfaction.
- They continue efforts for human resources development and other efforts for improving service quality.
- They are implementing unique efforts for improving work efficiency.
