See & unlock features with phone verification

To unlock certain features, you need to phone-verify your channel.

1. On your computer, go to studio.youtube.com.
2. From the left, click Settings and then Channel and then Features.
3. You’ll see which features are currently available to your channel. Click Features that require phone verification.
4. Click Verify phone number. Learn who can phone-verify a channel from the section below.
5. Follow the prompts to phone-verify your account.

Who can phone-verify a channel

If you have a brand account, the owner and managers can phone-verify a channel.

If you do not have a brand account, only channel owners (not managers, editors, or viewers) can phone-verify a channel. Don’t know who owns a channel that you manage? Learn how to find the channel owner's name and email.

Features you can access

By default, your channel gets access to these features:

• Upload videos
• Create and edit playlists
• Add collaborators to playlists

Once you phone-verify your channel, you’ll get access to these features:

• Custom thumbnails
• Live streaming
• Upload videos longer than 15 minutes
• Appeal copyright claims

Access to these features may change if your channel is restricted because of Community Guidelines or copyright strikes.
