Commercially marketed Indian antivenoms were found to exhibit alarming deficiencies in neutralising the venoms of the medically important yet ‘neglected’ Indian snakes. These findings highlight the pressing need to produce broadly neutralising antivenoms in the country. Photograph of a banded krait (Bungarus fasciatus), one of the neglected species of Indian snakes examined in the study, is shown. Senji Laxme, et al. (2019)
