Seeing as this is sneaking in React/React Native/Expo version bumps which may affect other demos/packages, I'd like to suggest an intermediary step before testing/merging this PR. RFC to follow.

react-native-background-sync
project todemos
. This project showcases how to use Expo's BackgroundTask API to connect to PowerSync, allowing the local SQLite database to stay in sync with the source database when the mobile app is backgrounded.
