  Sorry to bother you but I was wondering about a bit of advice for a page I stumbled across (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_talk:Qiulae_Wong) and tried to help add sources to. I added what relevant sources I could find, but it seems it was recently rejected again. I am not the original author, but was just trying to help the original poster as I saw it sitting in drafts.

  Qiulae seems noteworthy as a political party leader. That said, I haven't been able to get any peer-reviewed journal articles for her as most of the relevant links are news sources. I was able to find a government source from some of her work in the UK, but it seems it isn't enough to get the article over the line. I am not sure what to do. I've looked at Qiulae and in my opinion she is sufficiently notable for inclusion. I believe the draft has not been accepted because most of the citations are too closely related to the subject or her party. My basic advice on creating new articles is to first find at least three reliable independent sources which describe the subject in some detail and to submit a first version of the article on that basis. Once the article has been accepted, it can be expanded with information from other sources. One of the problems seems to be that sources such as this are from newspapers which can only be accessed over the web after a subscription has been made. However, anyone who has a physical copy of the paper or has been able to access it over the web can of course include pertinent information from it, giving the title of the article, date of publication, etc. Some of the citations used in the draft such as RNZ are already acceptable. It may therefore be worthwhile basing a new draft of the article on verifiably reliable independent sources, perhaps with the assistance of experienced contributors from Wikipeoject New Zealand such as MurielMary. I am not sure how much you edit pages related to political figures here in Aotearoa, but if you are interested at all, I had a wee question... I came across the page for the new TOP party leader Qiulae Wong (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_talk:Qiulae_Wong) that was having some trouble getting out of draft stage. I reached out to try to help the original poster by adding references to what they wrote, but recently was declined for a second time. I am a bit stumped as a newbie on how I can improve the references, so if you have any tips I can try before resubmitting so that the next review is successful, any advice would be helpful!

Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and I removed a lot WP:PRIMARY, WP:SPS sources on this WP:BLP and what is left is lots of profiles and other non-salient. It needs real WP:SECONDARY coverage. The book is certainly notable, but I don't think she is.. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

The 2026 Developing Countries WikiContest has been running for a month now, so let's check in with the competition so far!

As of the time of writing, our top contestants are:

1. Nigeria Vanderwaalforces (submissions) ahead of the pack with 715 points, with two FAs and many GAs on the monarchs of the Kingdom of Benin;
2. Simongraham (submissions) with 291 points, mostly with GAs on jumping spiders, alongside various GAN and FAC reviews;
3. Jaguarnik (submissions) with 240 points, mostly from an FA on the 1945 film Ivan the Terrible;
4. Grnrchst (submissions) with 215 points, mostly from GAs on anarchist history in various countries, alongside many GA reviews, and;

These competitors are in the lead, but if past experience is any indication, big shake-ups might still await us in the contest. Hello @Diannaa, Thank you for getting in touch! Since this is an article I have added to, when I did copyvio check on the article as I began working on it, I noticed it was coming up highlighted in my other cited sources just due to the article length having a shorter word count combined with the repetition of the names of the awards. Running it again, I see there is some similar phrasing being highlighted from the bibliography and phrasing in the State Decorations Act which must have also been cited in other places. I will rewrite those parts and put any direct quotes from the Decorations Act in rp quote tags.
