I find the block diagram confusing

[edit ]

In my opinion, the block diagram https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Process_variable#/media/File:Set-point_control.png is providing more confusion than clarity. First, it does not use the terms (Process Variable, or PV) that are in the article. Secondly, it introduces process disturbance, which is not necessary to understand the concept. Third, the layout of the diagram is not intuitive. If you agree, then we can create a new and simpler diagram. This diagram is closer, but not perfect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_loop#/media/File:Industrial_control_loop.jpg CaliViking (talk) 21:56, 22 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_loop#/media/File:Industrial_control_loop.jpg is not great because there's not enough room on a page to make it big enough to read the text at the bottom. Also, it is better for such text to be in the wiki, not images. But that hasn't stopped the image from being widely used in other control-related articles. I agree that it is more relevant than the current image. ~Kvng (talk) 15:07, 25 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
