Method: revisions.delete

Permanently deletes a file version. You can only delete revisions for files with binary content in Google Drive, like images or videos. Revisions for other files, like Google Docs or Sheets, and the last remaining file version can't be deleted. For more information, see Manage file revisions.

HTTP request

DELETE https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v3/files/{fileId}/revisions/{revisionId}

The URL uses gRPC Transcoding syntax.

Path parameters

Parameters
fileId

string

The ID of the file.

revisionId

string

The ID of the revision.

Request body

The request body must be empty.

Response body

If successful, the response body is an empty JSON object.

Authorization scopes

Requires one of the following OAuth scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file
