Swedish forwarder Greencarrier joins the Clean Shipping Index as user

With worldwide operations and a growing business Greencarrier will be an important part of the network and are warmly welcomed onboard.

As members they will access the Clean Shipping Index tool for evaluation and comparison of their carriers’ environmental performance based on emissions of CO₂, NO_x, SO_x, waste and heavy chemicals. The network acts for a sustainable development in the shipping industry by encouraging ship owners to use and choose techniques and measures with less environmental and social impact.

Bengt Erlandsson, Chief Operation Officer at Greencarrier: Environmental concerns are on top of Greencarrier’s agenda and long term strategy. During our supplier assessment Ship owners will be granted with scores for index presence and environmental data sharing. We also consider the number of ships reported in the index.

Joining the network and accessing the information is seen as a natural way forward to meet our customers’ requirements, Bengt Erlandsson says.

Greencarrier is the second forwarder becoming members with full access to the index information.
