I want one too…
but WHY THE HELL is the enclosure 50m tall.
Think of how big that is.

by VAElynx VAElynx , 21 May 2012 22:34
TheLonging TheLonging 21 May 2012 22:35

Containment procedures could be toned down a little in terms of size, but I like this otherwise.

THAT is Wondertainment. I'll take six.

You really should have gotten someone to look over the grammar and capitalization before posting. But I like it, so upvoted.

by Rejekyll Rejekyll , 21 May 2012 22:39
VAElynx VAElynx 21 May 2012 22:40

Dunno.. these seem almost too awesome for Wondertainment. Could be a good thing. for one time he guessed right as what'd people actually like.

by VAElynx VAElynx , 21 May 2012 22:40
Adam Henderson Adam Henderson 21 May 2012 23:03

Fixed enclosure size, glad to hear people like these little guys. Kind of confused on where the grammar and capitalization problems are, but if I find out I'll fix them. As for Dragon-Snails being "too awesome for Wondertainment" I'm really not sure how to fix that….

Any ideas?

EDIT: Ten upvotes, no downvotes? This is somewhat surprising.

Not really, it's just that Wondertainment products tend to have a nasty dark side if you fuck with them or mess up on the instructions.

by Boa Noah Boa Noah , 21 May 2012 23:04
VAElynx VAElynx 21 May 2012 23:05

You didn't fix it.
If there's a lot of them, 50x50 wouldn't be all that unreasonable.
The problem is, let me rephrase.. ehm
WTF DOES IT HAVE TO BE A FRIGGIN' CUBE.

Seriously ,ever seen a cubic glasshouse? No? Me neither.

Lumineinfinitus Lumineinfinitus 21 May 2012 23:13

Could always run a side-effect of feeding them the wrong food.. But I personally find the article to be fine by itself as something Wondertainment made later when they figured out what people wanted.

Varkarrus Varkarrus 22 May 2012 17:57

Maybe if you feed it something you DO want, they get enraged?
Just a thought…

Smapti Smapti 21 May 2012 23:13

At first I thought was going to be a "SNAILS! EWWWWWWWW!" type article.

Then I read it and now I want one.

Upvoting, though i'll agree it seems too bright and shiny for Wondertainment. These things need some sort of downside - maybe they breed exponentially if they're kept in pairs?

by Smapti Smapti , 21 May 2012 23:13
Boa Noah Boa Noah 21 May 2012 23:16

Actually, on this line of reasoning, I say to make them prolific grazers, capable on annihilating crops and destroying ecosystems if they get into the wild.

by Boa Noah Boa Noah , 21 May 2012 23:16
pro-mole pro-mole 22 May 2012 16:40

Yes, they'd definitely be an invasive species. Maybe some addendum of pet dragonsnails that were lost/thrown away by their owners is at order. Still, I want some of them so much.

O.K. here's what I've got:

1. VAElynx, have you tried refreshing the page? As for cubical nature, remember the foundation just builds cells to keep stuff in before they find the stuff, so they generally make it the same size. Also, I assume the foundation annoys enough building connecters "You want a pool of acid? With insurance against reptile attacks? And a few hundred locks? WTF?" that they probably need to standardize cells at least somewhat.

2. Feeding them the wrong food just turns them into a gremlins rip-off. Sorry but no. In an original, per-sandbox form I considered having them breath fire as a way of making them more unsafe. But I thought that made them too dragonlike.

3. Smapti, I like your idea that they breed exponentially best. Too much of a good thing after all….

Sequence Sequence 21 May 2012 23:26

Yes. That is a good idea. Do it.

by Sequence Sequence , 21 May 2012 23:26
Ninteen45 Ninteen45 21 May 2012 23:32

They breathe fire, but it's about the size of a candle flame.

VAElynx VAElynx 22 May 2012 16:21

1. I immensely dislike this reasoning. This sort of thing would be kept on a low-hazard bio-containment site, most likely in several large terraria. For one , a 5m tall enclosure is friggin' impractical when you need to manipulate with them… for two ,I can't imagine any reason the Foundation would have pre-built 125m^3 cubes lying around…
And yes, there are standard types of enclosure such as the beloved Standard Humanoid Containment cell, however they are more sensibly dimensioned.

2. Good addition. I'm liking them more and more. And tacking on cheap danger wouldn't work well for this either.

Made a couple spelling/grammatical fixes. My comma placement may be controversial; if someone wants to object to it that's fine.
