  Goal: Creating more awareness in the Unix community for OpenPKG and especially working off the OpenPKG presentation to newbies.
  Justification: Easier entrance, larger community.

• OpenPKG Book
  
  Goal: Writing of an OpenPKG book which finally provides a concise and clearly structured all-in-one documentation of the entire OpenPKG world. The typical audiences OpenPKG users, OpenPKG administrators, OpenPKG developers and OpenPKG aficionados have to be addressed.
  Justification: Better documentation.
  Duration: 24 months

• OpenPKG Registry
  
  Goal: Improving the OpenPKG Registry registry.openpkg.org by adding additional features, improving the style and speeding up its processing. Additionally, merge "OpenPKG Foundation fellows" and "OpenPKG Project fellows".
  Justification: Increase community acceptance.
  Duration: 6 months
  Effort: 1 man-month

• OpenPKG Affiliation Service Environment (ASE)
  
  Goal: Improving the OpenPKG Affiliation Service Enironment (ASE) registry.openpkg.org/ase by adding additional features and speeding up its processing.
  Justification: Increase community acceptance.
  Duration: 6 months
  Effort: 1 man-month

• OpenPKG Deployment Toolkit
  
  Goal: From scratch development of a newly designed and more sophisticated toolkit for the automatic deployment of OpenPKG in large scale setups. This especially has to provide us with a more sophisticated dependency resolver, a client/server architecture for attaching/detaching to target hosts and for central management.
  Justification: Resolve long-standing deficiencies, enlarge community.

• RPM 4.4
  
  Goal: Finally upgrade OpenPKG from RPM version 4.2 to version 4.4 to gain from its numerious bugfixes and increased portability. Additionally, RPM 4.4 has some new features (like an SQLite backend) which could be interesting for OpenPKG, too.
  Justification: Bugfixes, Portability.
