C: GKS

This issue of the Manual was in a state of flux with regard to GKS. The STARLINK VAX Systems were using an old version of GKS while the RAL implementation was about to be installed on the mainframes. A full Introduction to GKS was written by people involved in the RAL implementation.

The GKS implementation was a joint activity between ICL and Rutherford. It was used by both on the PERQ computer system manufactured by ICL. The implementation was also used on VAX computer systems and the mainframe computers at Rutherford. A special version of the Manual appeared for STARLINK who had various raster devices attached to their set of VAX computers.

The 1990 version of the Manual is included here as a separate document.
