List Criteria

  • A GoI has to appear in at least one article.
  • A GoI normally don't exist in real life. But there are a few exceptions.
  • A GoI must have more than one member. Exceptions to this rule include dado, Lefty, and the Autocephalous Mission of Moldova
  • A GoI must be aware of the anomalous. Only exceptions to this are Parawatch and the Fog Seekers. Organizations in the Broken Masquerade Canon and 1998 Canon are excluded.
  • Organizations/Groups in the Broken Masquerade Canon and 1998 Canon only count if they have used anomalies or are anti-Foundation.

Included Stuff

  • GOC Council 108 members.
  • Foundation and other GoI precursors.
  • Paranormal civilizations or species such as the Daevites and the Imit
  • Defunct anomalous organizations.
  • Groups that may or may not be part of the Foundation such as the Department of Abnormalities.
  • Companies that emerged from the breakup of Prometheus Labs.
  • Anomalous religions, sects, and cults.
  • Subsidiaries of anomalous companies. (The subsidiary also has to be involved with the anomalous)
  • SCPs can also count as GoI. GoI-4968 for example.
  • Alternate universe versions of GoI and SCP Foundation.
  • Fictional organizations that pose a threat or interest to the Foundation such as the PAC Institute due to narratives.

Non-included Stuff

  • Front companies (Both Foundation and GoI)
  • Parent agencies to anomalous agencies. For example, the UIU counts, but the FBI doesn't.
  • Anomalous nations.
  • Other branches of GoI.
  • If the GoI is mentioned in any other media or source, i.e Wikipedia or Fandom, then said page should be linked in the entry, but does not count as an article. For example, Entry A is listed as Very Minor even though it has a link on a page on the wiki and a page on Wikipedia.

Differences Between Major and Minor GoI

Major GoI always appear in the GoI Hub. The GoI Index does not count due to the inclusion of minor GoI such as the Scarlet Hammer.

Regarding Anomalous Nations and City-states.

Anomalous nations and city-states are a little bit complicated. Some are classified as GoI, while others aren't. The Third Empire is not counted as a GoI although they utilize anomalies. Instead, their Institute is counted as a GoI.

Some anomalous nations, such as the Republic of Samiomalie are counted as LoI. While others, such as the Confederate Island Countries of Phantom are counted as GoI. Despite both being anomalous nations, both have a different status.

Anomalous civilizations such as the Olute or the Daevites are exempt from this, due to their age.

Anomalous nations and city-states will automatically count as LoI, and will only be counted as GoI if they are counted as one.

Note: Political parties are counted as organizations, not nations.

Note: Fae city-states are exempt from this rule.

Corporations, subsidiaries, and other business nonsense.

Multiple anomalous multinational conglomerates such as Prometheus Labs and the Daikoku Group have multiple subsidiaries with varying degrees of control.

According to Wikipedia, "A subsidiary is a company owned or controlled by another company, which is called the parent company, parent, or holding company. The subsidiary can be a company, corporation, or limited liability company. In some cases, it is a government or state-owned enterprise. " Therefore, subsidiaries are counted as separate GoI, right? No.

First of all, if subsidiaries are counted as separate GoI, then the list would be about 50 entries longer. Secondly, although subsidiaries are separate legal entities, they aren't really independent. So subsidiaries do not count as GoI.

Note: The Daikoku Group and its multiple companies count as separate GoI due to it being a Keiretsu.

Regarding different dimensions/universes/timelines/whatever

A GoI from a different dimension only counts if its name is different with the original name in the base dimension. For example, the Fourth Reich is called the New Empire in the Brotherhood canon.

Author Headcanon

This list will follow the original headcanon of the author of the SCP/GoI. If a GoI number/logo is not mentioned within a page of the wiki but is confirmed as official by the author, then it is to be counted.
