About the "Hinode" Project

International Collaboration for "Hinode"

The "Hinode" project is pursued through international collaboration led by the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA/ISAS) and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). The three telescopes on board the "Hinode" spacecraft were developed by the following institutions.

Solar Optical Telescope (SOT): NAOJ, LMSAL, HAO, Kyoto Univ., and JAXA/ISAS
X-Ray Telescope (XRT): SAO, JAXA/ISAS, NAOJ, and NASA/MSFC
Extreme-ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer (EIS): MSSL, NRL, RAL, Univ. Birmingham, NASA/GSFC, NAOJ, JAXA/ISAS, and Univ. Oslo
