Create More Than One Site in Google Pages
Google Page Creator has a new feature: you can create up to five sites using a single account.
First, enable "experimental features" in Site Settings. Then go to the page manager and click on "Create a site with a different address", choose an address and that's it. As the address has the format *.googlepages.com, you can't choose the name of an existing Gmail account.
This is a good way to overcome the limitation of having only 100 MB space and only 100 files, without creating a new account.
The answer to the question: "How do I create a new site?" from help has changed from:
"During this initial testing period, we're only allowing each account to have a single site. However, this site can be comprised of up to 100 pages. We'll soon be offering support for multiple sites, but don't have any specific timeline to share at this point."
to
"Select the Create a site with a different address link that appears near the top of the Page Manager."

Their "check availability" feature's a little buggy. Sometimes it says an address is available when it's not.
Reply DeleteWhilst they disallow any names that are either already Gmail username or Picasa Web Albums nicknames, they do seem to be allowing addresses with "Google" in them, which you can't do in Gmail.
It's also a little poor that you can't delete or change the address of a site once you've created it.
YES! This is awesome!
Reply DeleteAlthough i'm still going to keep my second one with the other account anyway because i have some "other" stuff on there...
Sucks about what Tony mentioned though.
They will probably let you do some further things later on, lets suggest it to them!
I created a little page last night for some friends.
Just a quick 10 minute job to simplify... oh i dunno, less than a minutes worth of typing code... i'm such a nice friend
google page creator is still very limited on features ... yes it is good for simple sites like personal web sites but if you like to create some thing good and big, it is not good enuf
Reply DeleteYes, I want to know how to delete the unnecessary sites which I just created.
Reply DeleteWell, you can't delete sites, at least for the moment.
Reply DeleteWhile you can't delete a site, you can delete all of the pages in the site.
Reply DeleteAll, except for the homepage.
Reply DeleteNotice how in the example screenshots they use eve.googlepages.com and frogs.googlepages.com. Too bad there is a minimum of 6 characters in anything we want to make and we can't be cool like eve and her frogs.
Reply DeleteThose 12,356,630 subdomains are for VIPs. For example, Google employees have Gmail addresses like matt@gmail.com or a@gmail.com.
Reply DeleteThanks for the info ... I was waiting for such a feature for so long ...
Reply Deletehey, it doesn't work for me. I don't see such a link!
Reply DeleteI cannot see that link today. Maybe google has cancelled this function?
Reply DeleteIt works for me; however, I haven't been able to find any sort of available address with "google" anywhere in it. Has anyone else had better luck?
Reply DeleteCan you also do autoforwarding? I created a site with my name but I also want the same site with a different name. Ho do I do this?
Reply DeleteHawk
No, you can't do something so advanced at the server level. But you could create blank pages that have the same name like in the first site, and a simple JavaScript or Meta redirection.
Reply DeleteAs i have explored it also that one can not delete googlepages site.
Reply DeleteIs it possible to rename googlepages site? e.g
myfrogs.googlepages.com to yourfrogs.googlepages.com
No, you can't rename a site, but you can create a new one and duplicate the content. To make all the pages of a site unavailable, go to site settings and check "hide this site".
Reply DeleteNow we can't delete site wrongly crated and waiting for googlepages to add this future. Just hope and waiting.
Reply Deletethis is too complicated iwish i had an easiesr rescource than that
Reply Deletethis is hopeless ill never be able to create a site i hope that ill find something less complicated. ill just have to go to ask jeeves.com for an answer.
