Hi all!
I don't know if I've asked this before, but here goes:
Because of the current uncertain status of Wikidot, I've been thinking to move my sites under Wordpress. Has anyone tried to replicate Data Forms & Listpages functionality with Wordpress? If so, how?

Thanks!

One of the great mysteries of my life will be how Michael is letting Wikidot devolve the way it has. So many of us have so much time invested in Wikidot, it's a real shame to see it abandoned like this.
I was looking at Pods a while ago as a way to mimic data forms but never fully implemented a working example.
Using custom post types and "The Loop", it should be possible to replicate most of the List Pages functionality.
I think it would be an interesting project to try and replicate some of Wikidot's most powerful features as Wordpress plugins. There was a time I thought about trying to tackle such a project but since we moved to a simple Google Drive solution at work, I didn't have a real need. I've since retired as of the end of the year and am more interested in other things at this time. I'm really having fun learning 3D modelling and using my 3D printer!
Hi Ed!
Nice to hear from you! There's a 3D printer at my workplace, but haven't been twiddling with that very much… I have been into home automation recently, it's a hobby that really draws you in. Been integrating literally everything there: vacuums, lights, surveillance cameras, home audio system, car status monitoring, meat cooking thermometer and even homebrewing equipment! :)
Thanks for the tips, I'll check Pods and The Loop!
About Wikidot, I think the first push downhill was Pieter's death. Things sort of started getting out of hand after that. I think.

Yes, it is really strange how Michal reacts on Wikidot and the open needs and waiting work for it.
I can understand why he want to sell wikidot completely to another owner - this could also help the users.
I can understand why he as a bitcoin owner wants to do another tasks in his live.
I cannot understand why he is not reachable now - even for old gurus like us - and let the users in an unsecure future.
Till today I have not found a better way to build a wiki ( or a cms site) in a short and easy way.
Sometimes I think about a shift to MIRAHEZE.org (https://miraheze.org/) which works with donations only ( like wikipedia) and is controlled by a "living" admin group ( not like wikidot).
Edit: for me as an old wikipedia autor this would be a good return to 9old basics
