I created a wikidot account mainly to write SCP but whenever I send in an application to join the site, my request is declined. What do I need to join the site?
Have you read the Guide for Newbies? If you read it, it should have a necessary line of text that you must put in an application for it be accepted.

Am i just Missing something? or do I need something else.
I would ask one of the admins of the site why you have problems to join ( or the application is declined) .
You can do it by searching on page "/system:members" of the wanted site ( i have no idea which site you mean) at the bottom for the "admins" , click on one of them and write them a private message , asking what is going wrong.
Here it is not a big advantage - most of the community-members I think cannot help you in this case
