Cherepon is a member of the Kwa branch of the Atlantic-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 110,000 people in Ghana, in particular in the hills of the Akuapim North Municipal District in the south of the Eastern Region in the southeast of Ghana.

Cherepon is also known as Chiripon, Chiripong, Kyiripong, Okere or Ɔkere. It is written with the Latin alphabet. A Cherepon translation of the Bible was publised in 2022.
