Public Comments on Applications
Some bank applications and notices—such as mergers, new charters, or other significant transactions—must be publicly announced under federal law, OCC regulations, or OCC policy. These announcements give the public an opportunity to share feedback before the OCC makes a decision.
You can submit comments to:
- Support or oppose the application
- Ask for more time to comment
- Request a public meeting or hearing
- Suggest that the OCC approve the application only with certain conditions
- The OCC generally publishes comments without changes, including any personal or business details such as names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers.
- All comments, attachments, and supporting materials become part of the public record and may be disclosed.
- Do not include any confidential or inappropriate information in your submission.
