Political economy of "high-tech agriculture" development policy in Vietnam(2022_2_40_007)

Outline

This research aims to identify the characteristics of Vietnam’s economic and social impacts on rural societies brought about by the "high-tech agriculture" development policy implemented in 2010. Vietnam has long maintained state-led agricultural technology development and diffusion systems even after liberalizing its economy. However, this policy represents a major shift in the direction of agricultural development in Vietnam in that it seeks to promote the "industrialization" of agriculture by the capitalist-led introduction of new production technology.
