The Role of Technological Innovation in Global Value Chains(2017_1_50_002)
Outline
This research group has been established in order to perform the collaborative research activities stipulated under the MOU between IDE-JETRO, the World Trade Organization, the World Bank Group, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Global Value Chains Research Center, and China Development Research Foundation. Specifically, it aims to contribute to the publication of "GVC Development Report: Issue 2," which is planned to be published as a joint effort of the above-mentioned six organizations.
FY2017 will be dedicated to writing background papers for the Issue 2, which will be largely based on the research assets and collaborative experiences from the previous joint research (Issue 1). Joint workshops and editing meetings are planned in preparation for the second volume of the Report, with a particular reference to the issue of the role of technological innovation in Global Value Chains.
