RIN (Research Institutes Network) Annual Meeting was held in Japan for the first time.

IDE-JETRO supports the activities of the international organization The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) through research projects, dissemination of research results, and operation of research organization network meetings. The RIN (Research Institutes Network), a network of policy research institutes representing 16 East Asian countries (10 ASEAN countries plus Japan, China, Korea, Australia, India, and New Zealand), held its annual meeting in Japan for the first time in corporation with IDE-JETRO and ERIA to support ERIA's research activities.

In response to the growing importance and significance of the Indo-Pacific region in the international arena, which includes ASEAN member states and most of East Asia, the RIN meeting brought together representatives of the RIN institutes to develop policy recommendations and research aimed at deepening the economic development of the region, including "Digital and Innovation", "Sustainable Economy and Climate" and "Laos’ chairmanship for ASEAN 2024."
