The Adventure Recreation program can help you explore the unknown, instill curiosity, and foster leadership development through clinics, activities, and outdoor experiences. We offer resources to help beginner and experienced adventurers explore the world around them.

Climbing 101

In this 3-part course, participants will learn and practice fundamental climbing techniques, climbing gear use, bouldering and belaying. No prior climbing knowledge or gear is required.

Top Rope Belay

The clinic includes knot tying techniques, belaying skills, and a belay endorsement examination. Some climbing knowledge is helpful but not required.

Lead Endorsement

In this advanced climbing clinic, you will learn the basics of lead belaying, lead climbing, clipping and safe falling.

Kids Climbing Clinics

Kids will learn the basics of rock climbing and practice their skills! No experience necessary. Kids ages 7 - 11.

Little Adventures

Go on a storybook adventure! Kids ages 4-6 are welcome to join us for story time in the cozy Reflection Room at the ARC.

Explore the Possibilities

In addition to the learning opportunities above, Adventure Recreation offers open climbing time at the ARC, a Bouldering Cave with Kilter Board, and a Rental Center for patrons to rent camping equipment and outdoor gear.
