- Advanced materials and technologies for efficient electrochemical energy conversion and storage, particularly batteries and electrochemical ammonia synthesis
- Mechanistic understandings of electrochemical energy materials & interfaces through correlative and advanced operando and ex situ characterization (cryo-EM, in-situ TEM, synchrotron and neutron-based spectroscopy, etc.)
- Battery ageing & failure analysis, and state estimation & lifetime prediction with advanced models
