Event sponsorship
Are you organizing an event that promotes scientific collaboration and supports research advancement?
Complete the event sponsorship request form below for sponsorship consideration. The sponsorship committee reviews each request and responds within 4 to 6 weeks.

Communications and Strategic Initiatives (CSI)
We help share quantum with the world through marketing, communications, data reporting, scientific outreach, government and stakeholder relations, external and internal events.
- News and media: News articles, press releases, media interviews, and researcher profiles to highlight and promote your work.
- IQC Insider: Stay informed with the internal weekly newsletter for IQC members. Email IQC’s communications team by 12 p.m. Wednesday if you’d like content included in the next weekly newsletter.
- Public engagement: Opportunities to participate in public events and speaking engagements.
- Industry connections: Explore commercialization and industry collaboration opportunities.
- Conference support: Access materials like presentation slides, swag, and brochures for conferences.
- Website support: Assistance with creating or updating your profile and showcasing your research on the IQC website or help with your research group website.
- Social media presence: Amplify your research and events through IQC’s social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube.

Finance
For the following items please reach out to the IQC finance team member for your research group.
Unit4: Procurement system for purchasing lab supplies.
Concur: System for reimbursing UW business-related travel and non-travel expenses.
Travel claims: Contact us before booking conference attendance or making travel arrangements.
Computer purchases: Assistance with coordinating purchases (in collaboration with the IQC Tech Team).
Research grant guidance: Support with eligible expenses and compliance for research grants.
Shipping requests: Assistance with processing shipments.
GRS payments: Guidance on Graduate Research Studentship (GRS) payments.
TA and RA hiring: Support with Workday (HR system) for hiring Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Research Assistants (RAs).
Campus resources: Connect you with the appropriate resources or departments on campus.

To access the service handbook remotely from home, a VPN connection is required for secure and authorized access to the internal network.
IQC Resources
Mail room locations and processes
Mail is delivered/picked up via Central Stores for both of the mail room locations:
- QNC - Your mailbox is located in QNC-3102. Please use University of Waterloo’s main address for all incoming deliveries. Always include your name and building/room number. You may also have a mailbox in your home department.
- RAC/RAC2 - Your mailbox is located in the RAC building, RAC-1001.
NOTE: You may also have a mailbox in your home department.
Internal mail, envelopes, locations, address to use for shipping
- Internal/On-campus mail - Please use on-campus envelopes available in mail room for all internal mail.
- Envelopes - On-campus envelopes for internal mail, along with return addressed envelopes for external mail are available in mail room.
- Address used when requesting a shipment to be received - Please use University of Waterloo’s main address for all incoming deliveries, also include: IQC, your name and building/room number.
Parking
IQC Visitor parking: If you have a visitor coming to visit IQC and require parking at RAC or in the QNC VIP lot please submit the IQC parking request form to arrange this. Please give at least 24 hours notice.
